maxFlite proudly presents its newest wind spinner aircraft, the British Hawker Sea Fury. It represents the pinnacle of piston engine aircraft and is one of the fastest fighter aircraft built in series. It was developed during the Second World War, but was only used after the end. In contrast, the first jet engine fighters were still in their infancy. In August 1952, during the Korean War, Lieutenant Peter Carmichael defeated a MiG-15 jet in air combat with the Hawker Sea Fury. And it is precisely in this paint finish that maxFlite presents the Sea Fury as a garden flyer.
The name prefix "Sea" already indicates that it was planned as a carrier aircraft for use by the Royal Navy. You can see this immediately from the visible catch hook, which can of course also be found on the GardenFighter model.
The garden decoration plane is more than just a model airplane. The impressive replica of the historic aircraft captures every detail of Lt. Peter Carmichael. From the striking lines to the characteristic colors, every nuance is reproduced with the highest precision on the high-quality film. It brings the past to life and, as a wind-driven propeller, is also a connection to the present.

Expert Knowledge:
- Almost 1000 of the Hawker Sea Fury were produced between 1945 and 1955.
- The engine used in most of the Sea Fury was the 18-cylinder Bristol Centaurus XVIIX radial engine with 2480 hp. It essentially consists of two 9-cylinder radial engines arranged one behind the other. Unfortunately, this is not installed in the wind turbine model.
- The maximum speed was approx. 740 km/h, the take-off mass was a maximum of 5.7 t with a maximum range of 1200 km.
- Carmichael retired in 1984 as Commanding Officer of T.S. Prince of Wales retired and died in 1997.
- It was only in 2018 that doubts arose that Lieutenant Carmichael was really the "MiG-15 Killer" of 1952. Because his wingman Brian "Schmoo" Ellis was the only one who was missing the appropriate amount of ammunition after the flight. Ellis claims that at the time the Royal Navy simply acknowledged the aerial victory to the older pilot.
- Today there are still a few Sea Furys capable of flying, many of which are used in air racing.
